The joke is on who?

Matt tries telling Maddy the following joke the other day seeing if she could 'get' it.
Three women die and go to heaven. They are looking around and see ducks everywhere. Peter comes up to them and explains that they are not to step on a duck and if they do, there will be a punishment.
An hour goes by and the first lady accidently steps on a duck. Peter comes over and handcuffs her to a really ugly man. Six hours pass and the second lady accidently steps on a duck. Peter comes over and handcuffs an ugly man to her too. About a month passes and the third lady is doing a really good job of not stepping on the ducks but Peter approaches her and handcuffs this really handsome man to her. She turns to Peter and says, "but I haven't stepped on a duck!" Peter says, "I know, but he did!"
After Matt finishes the joke, Maddy says "I don't get it." Matt asks her what the punishment was for stepping on a duck. She replies, "being stuck with a man forever?"
I think she got it more than Matt wanted her to!

Cade's First Tball Game

1st time on base

Cade and Daniel

Cade making the first out of the season

Cade kept dancing around funny so we kept asking if he had to go to the bathroom. Nope. Guess he was just excited.

This looks just like Ryan!

Cake Lollipops

Today is Ryan's teacher's birthday. I turned 12 the day she was born. Hmmm. Anyway, I like her a lot so I made some birthday treats to take into the class. These yummy cake lollipops were a hit.

Happy Birthday, Matt!

Crazy 8's Baseball

Ryan is doing baseball again this year. He had his first game last night. I could see a lot of improvement over last year. He did really well batting. He is 4/4 so far. He also did really well out in the field even though I know it had to be hard for him to just stand out there for so long. (In other words, he did a good job not playing in the dirt!)

April Fools

The past few years for April Fools Day, I have 'tricked' the kids with food. I have done fake eggs (marshmallow creme), fake grilled cheese sandwiches (toasted pound cake with yellow frosting), fake french fries (toasted pound cake sliced) and fake juice (jello poured in glasses with straws). This year I made un-chicken pot pies. The last two nights I cut orange starbursts and shaped them into cubed carrots. For peas, I rolled pieces of green taffy. I was going to use bananas as potatoes but Matt and Maddy took the last two as snacks. Today I made the pie tops and the vanilla pudding. I assembled everything while the kids were in school.
Matt wanted to see the kids reactions so we waited until he got home to eat. Each kid moaned as their dish was placed in front of them. I told them if they each ate one pea or carrot, they didn't have to eat any of the other vegetables. Maddy was practically in tears just thinking about having to eat a pea. My brave eater, Ryan, finally took a bite followed by Cade who tossed his pea in his mouth to get it over with. Even when Cade declared that the 'peas' weren't so bad, Maddy wouldn't try it. Ryan couldn't hold it in anymore and let Maddy in on the joke. At that point, she didn't know if I was fooling her or her brother was. She finally stuck her tongue out and licked the tiniest spot on her spoon. April fools!
Now to get them to eat their real dinner!

Here are the Starburst carrots and taffy peas.
